We had the pleasure of working with Maya as she took the first step to realising her dream of launching her own salon business called Hair Principles.
Maya’s passion and vision were incredible to experience, and to further enhance this, we conducted a Feasibility Study for the new business concept, which included the development of a brand positioning, along with brand purpose, vision and mission and values. We provided support with concept creation and store design in collaboration with a concept design agency. We worked together to develop a service offering, along with menu and treatments, and then conducted extensive review of equipment, brands and products to bring it to life.
From an operational perspective, we assisted Maya to get the best practices in place before opening, such as setting of salary brackets and commission schemes, developing individual staff KPIs and quarterly performance reviews and daily sales reports. In addition to all this, we coached and encouraged Maya throughout the process. It is wonderful to see another dream come to life for one of our clients, and to contribute to its success in future is one of our greatest honors.

Kumod Raney has been in the salon business for 16 years. I first did a mystery shopping experience at her salon which was known as Rain Beauty Salon. This was followed by a business audit. Based on my findings I worked on the following for her new business – a feasibility study and brand positioning. This exercise looked at the salon’s mission, vision, values and clients and services offering. It also considered a selection of brands and products, equipment and operational supplies. I then assisted with creating the menu and treatments, the staff uniform design and salon functionality. Thereafter we developed a customized client journey, a standard operations manual and conducted final interviews with shortlisted candidates for the new salon.

I spent time with Tara working on various aspects of her business. We started with the mystery shopping experience and followed that up with a business audit. I then implemented the proposed strategies going forward. After time spent in the business, observing, I then developed a customised client journey and standard operations manual. When it was go-time for the brand relaunch, I trained the team on the new Client Journey, customer service and coached the salon managers.

The start of my services rendered to Paris and Samantha included the first step of a mystery shopping visit. Thereafter I was able to do an audit on their business and assist them with developing short- and long-term business strategies. These strategies were executed with regular coaching with them.

The Wave Lounge is a startup business that I assisted from the beginning of their journey. The first step was to conduct a study on the feasibility of the business. Once this was done, we worked on their brand positioning and purpose, their mission, vision and values as well their brand name. Once the client had sat with the concept designers, I would ensure that what they suggested was in line with what the client was looking for and to ensure that their suggestions were functional and would meet the business needs of the salon. Thereafter I worked on their services offering, selection of brands and products, equipment and operational supplies and the creation of their customized client journey and standard operations manual.

Further support included HR support on commission schemes, individual staff KPIs and quarterly individual performance reviews. Financial support included work on budget creation, daily, weekly and monthly salon sales reports and P&L format.

As we worked together on the set up of their home service business as well, I developed a client journey specifically for this type of business.

Nadia approached me for advice and together we walked a path that looked at customising the salon’s client journey, developing the standard operations manual, developing brand guidelines and creating the unique WOW Signature Experiences and Memberships programme. I also advised her on employee commission schemes. Our process involved weekly coaching sessions and today I remain as a mentor to Nadia and the business.

When Ghazreen approached me to assist her with her business we chose to do a mystery shopping experience which was followed by a full business audit. Based on my findings, I then developed short- and long-term strategies that she is still implementing in her business today.

My work with Furless Permanent was far-reaching and extended into operations management. We initially started with a mystery shopping visit and a business audit, followed by strategy development and implementation thereof. Through regular meetings we then worked on creating their customised client journey experience and putting a standard operations manual into place. I then worked on HR support and implemented individual staff KPIs, commission schemes and quarterly individual performance review processes. On the financial side, my involvement included budget creation and establishing monthly and end of year business performance reviews. On the technology front I advised and assisted with the set up and implementation of the entire internal online platform and software that the business runs on.
